Regan Hughes

Network Architect

I’m an architecture and strategic development specialist, working on Ethernet and IP networks and services.

The lead IP designer for Kordia’s fixed CDMA roll-out in 2002, I also played a key role in the setup of Kordia’s new NOC to service this network.

Prior to working with Kordia, I spent 18 months overseas and worked with Colt Telecommunications in the UK; an award-winning WAN service provider with a footprint in 32 major European cities.

Since then, I’ve been working on the architecture development for Kordia’s network and Ethernet services.  This has included a major core network upgrade and the development of a suite of MEF based Ethernet and IP Managed WAN products.

A Business Manager with Kordia since 2004, I started off working as a Radio Technician in a radio studio environment. Once I’d completed my Bachelors Degree in Engineering, receiving a first class Honours at the University of Auckland, my broadcast career took off.

Completing a range of both low- and high-power broadcast transmission projects, including the deployment of FM broadcasting infrastructure around New Zealand, I then moved into DMR and fibre-optic transmission design and build projects.

I now have extensive product management and P&L responsibility for two of Kordia's key Product portfolios – Network Transport Capacity and Television Broadcast services.
