Vodafone Mt Druitt transmission hub

The NSW team at Kordia Solutions was quick to act, rushing to the site when Vodafone's Mount Druitt transmission hub and surrounding BTS sites were destroyed.

The sites were destroyed by a rampaging tank that mowed down seven mobile telecommunications facilities over the weekend.

A Sydney man stole an ex-army tank and targeted communications facilities, primarily the equipment shelters, in the suburbs of Mt Druitt, Dharruk, Emerton, Glendenning and Plumpton. All major carriers were affected in some capacity.

Kordia Solutions restored the 2G services within 48 hours of the incident, minimising the impact on Vodafone's network.

This was done through the close cooperation of the field operations team which performed the on-site activities, the project logistics team which provided equipment needed to rebuild the facilities as well as the engineering team which supported the field teams and the NMC which kept everyone up to date with detailed information.
